I have decided for a new project to create an OpenGL Interface for SWI-Prolog. I know there is an existing OpenGL Interface, that was started a long time ago by Philip Turner. But that project has been left idle for years, and it was never completed. It only contained the most basic of commands and had no documentation. I did try and use it, but I had no luck compiliing it. I thought about taking it over, but decided that as I have had no experience with FFI, and being only a novice in Prolog, why not just start again.
So my plan is to create an OpenGL Interface for Prolog, that will contain syntax a close a possible to C, for the Mac, Windows and Linux, including providing detailed documentation.
As this project is a lot of work and will take a long time to complete, I have decided to use the NeHe Production OpenGL Tutorials as milestones. Each lesson will be a milestone. To start with, I will concentrate on developing the Mac version from Lesson 1 to Lesson 5, then port the Interface over to Linux and Windows. Then tackle each milestone by developing on the Mac and then porting, before moving to the next. Making the milestones small will keep the motivation up as benefit the testing. It will reduce bugs, as small changes will occur with each milestone release.
I will aim to release the source and libraries probably from lesson 10 (NeHE OpenGL Lessons), or maybe before.
Wish me luck, and keep checking for latest info on the Interface.

I have just released a new feature on Hub9000, a Questions and Answers Section.
The aim of this section is to provide a place for the AI and Robotics, hobbyists, enthusiasts, experts, etc. to ask for advice/facts/instructions, answer questions, and start/join discussions.
As always on Hub9000, this feature is free to use. Free to ask questions, free to answer questions and free to read.
As usual, if you find any bugs, have any suggestions, just drop me an email.
Have fun!
